Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Serbia: This is the first free trade agreement signed between China and Central and Eastern European countries, and the 22nd free trade agreement signed by China, making Serbia China’s 29th free trade partner. The China-Serbia FTA negotiations were launched in April 2023 and substantially completed by the end of September. Through the FTA, China and Serbia will achieve a high level of mutual opening-up, establish new institutional arrangements for bilateral economic and trade cooperation, create a more favorable, convenient, transparent and stable business environment for enterprises of the two countries, and inject new momentum into promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and deepening China-Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership.

In addition, China has signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, which is co-signed by China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the 10 ASEAN countries.
